The Walden Golf Group has acquired Baytree National Golf Links, one of the premier semi-private golf facilities located in Melbourne, Fla.
Effective July 31st, ownership of Baytree National Golf Links was transferred to WG Baytree Golf LLC, an entity owned by Walden Golf principal Steven Schorr, while Charlotte, North Carolina-based Pinnacle Golf Properties assumed full management and operational responsibilities.
Baytree National Golf Links will immediately begin implementing a comprehensive improvement strategy designed to elevate both course conditions and the overall golfer experience. Among the first major initiatives will be the installation of a camera-based ball-tracking technology, to the property’s practice facility. Additional capital improvements and operational enhancements are planned as part of Walden’s long-term investment plan and Pinnacle’s operating strategy.
The acquisition represents another milestone in the ongoing strategic partnership between Walden Golf and Pinnacle Golf Properties, a relationship focused on acquiring, enhancing, and operating exceptional golf facilities through long-term investment, innovative technology, and operational excellence.
Beyond physical improvements, Baytree will benefit from Pinnacle Golf’s integrated technology platform, including advanced tee-time management, customer relationship marketing, and golfer engagement systems. These technologies are designed not to replace personal service, but to allow club staff to spend more time creating memorable experiences for every guest.
Among the more innovative changes coming to Baytree is the implementation of an AI-powered platform built specifically for golf operations and an email marketing and automation platform. The AI-powered platform, which features principals of both Walden Golf and Pinnacle Golf as strategic investors, offers course operators/owners a variety of operations/golf friendly features such as voice AI and chat agents, waitlist/confirmation reminders, advanced web booking and revenue management solutions.
“Technology should never replace hospitality,” says David Taylor, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle Golf Properties. “Our goal is to remove friction from the golfer’s experience so our team members can spend more time doing what matters most — welcoming guests, building relationships, and delivering exceptional service. Baytree National represents another opportunity to demonstrate how thoughtful investment, experienced leadership, and innovative technology can work together to create an outstanding golf experience.”
The Baytree National acquisition continues the rapid national expansion of the Walden Golf/Pinnacle Golf partnership, which has added a combined total of more than 32 golf facilities to their portfolios since 2023, while investing in capital improvements, advanced technology, agronomic excellence, and enhanced guest experiences.
“Baytree National is an outstanding property with tremendous potential,” says Walden Golf principal Steven Schorr. “We invest with a long-term perspective, seeking facilities where we can create lasting value for golfers, employees, and the surrounding community. Our partnership with Pinnacle Golf Properties gives us confidence that each investment is supported by an experienced operating team committed to continuous improvement and exceptional service.”
