Maine Club Could Soon Be Sold
The current owner of Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono, Maine has reached an agreement on a sale price, but details of the deal have not been finalized. The 18 hole, championship golf course was designed by Donald Ross and built in 1924.
California Golf Course Considers Turf Reduction for Water Conservation
In addition to upgrading its outdated irrigation system, the Coronado (Calif.) Municipal Golf Course is exploring the possibility of reducing turf coverage in out-of-play areas of the course. Upgrading the irrigation system is expected to save around $300,000 annually, with additional savings if turf reduction is pursued.
