The South Florida Resort nears opening of its new Tidal Cove Waterpark, which will feature a 60-foot tower with seven water slides, a 4,000-square-foot kids pool, and the first-ever FlowRider Triple surf simulation pool in the U.S.
As part of its expansion and renovation, the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in Aventura, Fla., is set to open its new Tidal Cove Waterpark, Hotel Management reported.
Tidal Cove will have a 60-foot tower with seven water slides, a 4,000-square-foot kids pool with an aquatic play structure, and the first-ever FlowRider Triple surf simulation pool in the United States, according to the Hotel Management report. The outdoor recreation area will add five acres of pool deck to the resort.
These new water amenities will connect with existing facilities that will include a zero-entry pool and a Lazy River that winds through a one-eighth mile of tropical foliage inspired by the local South Florida surroundings, Hotel Management reported. There will be 25 private luxury cabanas for relaxation, two private event lawns with 15,000 sq. ft. and 12,000 sq. ft., respectively, and a new retail store.
One of two new dining facilities, Surf House Bar & Grill, will be introduced as a two-story open-air restaurant and bar with seating for 142 people, Hotel Management reported. The second new restaurant, Freestyle, will be designed to meet family needs.
The first-ever FlowRider Triple facility in the nation will have three surfing areas totaling 42-feet wide, according to the Hotel Management report. The FlowRider is a surf simulation machine which incorporates elements of surfing, bodyboarding, skateboarding, skimboarding, snowboarding and wakeboarding.
Designed by WhiteWater, the 60-foot water slide tower will have seven slides: the Constrictor, a 558-foot slide for one to two riders on rafts; Master Blaster, a 486-foot slide for one to two riders on rafts; Boomerango, a 377-foot slide for two to four riders on rafts; Whizzard, a 266-foot two-slide single rider mat racer slide; and two Aqua Drop body slides, 348 feet and 286 feet, respectively, Hotel Management reported.
Tidal Cove is part of the renovation and expansion at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa that includes the new luxury 16-story Orchid Tower and 325 new guestrooms, Hotel Management reported. Designed by Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates, the tower nearly doubles JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa’s overall capacity to 685 rooms and suites, with interiors by design studio Champalimaud. Upgrades to the main lobby and building, front drive, and other key thoroughfares and resort facilities are also planned.
