Edgewood Golf Course Realty Associates, LLC is the new owner of the private River Vale, N.J., property as of April 1. The new owner is planning capital improvements to the family swimming pool and clubhouse beginning this year.
Edgewood Country Club has announced that the Witmondt and Schonbraun Families, operating through Edgewood Golf Course Realty Associates, LLC, are the new owners of the nearly 60-year old, private club in River Vale, N.J., NJ.com reported.
The transaction closed on April 1, and terms were not disclosed. Hampton Golf Management is providing management oversight through the transition in ownership and will provide ongoing operations management of the club, NJ.com reported.
“Edgewood Country Club boasts a longstanding history and a loyal member base in Bergen County and beyond,” said General Manager Dan Rogers. “This new ownership ushers in a new era of financial stability and a long-term improvement plan that will feature exceptional facilities and fresh programming at Edgewood.”
In addition, the new owners have committed to making capital improvements over the next several years that will provide for significant updates to the property and facilities, as well as an enticing expansion of programs and amenities. Among Edgewood’s planned improvements are upgrades to the family swimming pool and clubhouse, which will begin in 2015, NJ.com reported.
“Among the most important news to come out of Edgewood is our new and improved golf course, which boasts the best fairways and greens in the county, following two years and several millions of dollars invested in this endeavor,” said MG Orender, founder of Hampton Golf Management.
In addition, its distinctive Midway Bar & Grill located at the turn of the golf course will be updated to showcase its unique dining options, including a full-fledged New York-style deli, and cocktail lounge, NJ.com reported.
“One of the things we are most excited about is our new and robust Lifestyle Programming, an array of recreation and social programs to be enjoyed by members of all ages. The focus is on family, especially mothers and children.
