Deerwood Country Club (Jacksonville, Fla.) announced the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Approach, a new six-hole short course on Saturday, July 11.
The celebration will bring together club leadership, members, donors, and their guests to commemorate the opening of this new amenity. This is a significant milestone in the club’s continued investment in the game of golf.
Designed to provide a fun, engaging, and highly accessible golf experience, The Approach features six holes played actress three greens with strategically placed bunkers and approach shots ranging from 50 to 90 yards. The course offers members and their guests a unique opportunity to sharpen their short-game skills, enjoy a quick round, or introduce family and friends to the game in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Presented by the Eiras Family, The Approach has quickly established itself as one of only a handful of facilities of its kind in the region. The Approach welcomes golfers of all ages and skill levels, whether they are new to the game, refining their short-game skills, or simply looking to enjoy a quick round with family and friends.
The July 11 grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will officially unveil The Approach and mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Deerwood Country Club and its golf community. A special appreciation will be given to recognize the generous donors whose contributions helped bring the project to life.
The opening of The Approach is part of a broader vision for the future of golf at Deerwood Country Club. Alongside the short course, the club is currently undertaking a comprehensive renovation of its 7,350-yard, par-72 championship golf course. The renovation includes infrastructure upgrades, redesigned bunkers, improved drainage and irrigation systems, and enhancements throughout the course designed to elevate playability and course conditions.
“The Approach represents a unique addition to the Deerwood experience,” says General Manager Thayer Kern. “It creates opportunities for golfers to improve their skills, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy the game in a fun and welcoming environment. We are thrilled to celebrate its opening and recognize the supporters who helped make it possible.”
