StoneWater Golf Club (Cleveland, Ohio) believes the future of women’s golf starts with belonging, which is why the club is partnering with a local influencer and community builder to create an entry point into the game.
“With more women getting involved in the sport, we wanted to create an event that felt approachable and fun,” says Lindsey Neidus, Chief Marketing and Development Officer of StoneWater. “Less about being ‘good at golf’ and more about community, confidence and trying something new.”

To do this, StoneWater Golf Club partnered with Rebecca Maxwell, a Cleveland influencer focused on creating a community of women looking to connect, meet new people and experience new things through her company, She’s Company.
Maxwell and She’s Company aligns with what StoneWater is trying to achieve by bringing people together in an authentic way and making women feel welcome and connected. Maxwell’s social following allows StoneWater to reach different audiences of women, bringing them into a space in which they may not traditionally see themselves represented.
Removing the pressure
The evening, set for July 29, will bring together women of varying ages and skill levels for a relaxed, social and approachable golf experience designed around community as much as competition.
“The biggest goal is to make golf feel accessible and inviting to more women,” says Neidus. “Golf can sometimes feel intimidating if you didn’t grow up playing, so we want women to realize they belong here—whether they’ve never picked up a club before or already play regularly.”
Neidus and Maxwell designed the event to remove the pressure members associate with golf. The event will be more social and instructional rather than competitive.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn fundamentals, get tips from StoneWater’s golf professionals, practice in a relaxed environment, and meet other women who are either new to the game or looking to get more involved. StoneWater’s instructors from its new Linksman Golf Academy will lead the experience, ensuring it feels welcoming for all skill levels.
“We’re really hoping to attract women who may have always been curious about golf but never felt like there was a place for them to start,” says Neidus. “That could be young professionals, moms, beginners, social golfers, or women simply looking to meet new people and try something different.”
More than participation
Ultimately, Neidus has noticed women who golf at the club are often in search of community, experiences, social connection, and flexibility. She hopes new people discover the sport and view it in a positive, welcoming light.
“Events like this help introduce people to StoneWater and can lead to future membership or participation,” notes Neidus. “But the bigger win is creating a community people want to come back to. If someone leaves feeling more confident, makes a new friend, or decides they want to keep playing golf, that’s a success.”
