Philadelphia Country Club leaders Ryan Kenny, CCM, CCE, and Renee Bickel, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, have been added to the 2026 Club + Resort Business Engagement Summit agenda for a new session examining how the club brought members through the development of its $16 million second clubhouse, The Mill.
Kenny, the club’s GM/COO, and Bickel, its Human Resources & Communications Director, will present “Building The Mill Without Losing the Members” Oct. 6 at the University Club of Chicago.
The addition comes just weeks after The Mill appeared on the cover of C+RB’s September issue. In “Giving Philadelphia CC a Second Personality,” Kenny took C+RB inside the thinking behind the project and how the new clubhouse gives members another way to experience Philadelphia CC.
At Engagement, he and Bickel will tackle what happened before members ever walked through the doors.
“When we did the cover story, we were looking at The Mill as a finished product—why Philadelphia CC built it and what it adds to the club,” says C+RB Editorial Director Joanna DeChellis. “But members lived through years of decisions, construction and disruption before they got to enjoy any of that. We wanted to explore that element with a special session at Engagement. How do you build support for the vision, keep members informed when plans or timelines change and manage the experience they’re having today while asking them to be excited about what’s coming?”
“Building The Mill Without Losing the Members” will take place Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Learn more and register here.
