Just over a week after hosting the 2026 Presidents Cup, Medinah Country Club will bring its experience managing some of golf’s biggest events to the 2026 Club + Resort Business Engagement Summit.
The special session—Managing the Member Experience Through the Presidents Cup—has been added to the Summit agenda for Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the University Club of Chicago.
Medinah General Manager/COO Dave Schneider, PGA, CCM, and Director of Golf Casey Brozek, PGA, will take attendees inside how the club managed the member experience before and during the Presidents Cup, from communicating changes in access to creating experiences and benefits specifically for members.
“Medinah sits at the center of the golf world this fall, but what makes this session so interesting to me is what’s happening behind the scenes for members,” says Joanna DeChellis, Editorial Director of Club + Resort Business. “This is a club with decades of experience hosting golf’s biggest events, and they’ve learned how to make those moments feel special for members even when their club is temporarily transformed around them. To hear what worked and what they learned just days after the Presidents Cup is a rare opportunity for our attendees.”
Those efforts extend well beyond tournament access. Medinah created discounted ticket opportunities and a dedicated Presidents Cup Member Experience tent, along with thank-you parties, an “Evening with the Captains,” volunteer opportunities and other ways for members to participate in the championship. The club also developed a special-edition commemorative book and is collecting memorabilia from the event that will become part of its 102-year history.
Schneider and Brozek will share how they developed and communicated those experiences, as well as how Medinah handled the less glamorous realities of hosting an event of this scale, including changes in access and helping members find alternative places to play while the club’s golf facilities were unavailable.
For Medinah, the Presidents Cup is the latest chapter in a long history of championship golf. The club is the only venue in the world to have hosted a U.S. Open, PGA Championship, Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup. Drawing on that history, Schneider and Brozek will share with attendees of the 2026 C+RB Engagement Summit what Medinah has learned about making major events part of the membership experience and what the club continues to refine with each one.
The 2026 C+RB Engagement Summit takes place Oct. 5–6 at the University Club of Chicago and brings together club membership, marketing, communications and leadership professionals for two days of education focused on the member experience. Learn more and register here.
