Papago Golf Club (Phoenix, Ariz.) will host a free Community Swing event presented by Troon on Sunday, September 20, from noon to 4 p.m., inviting the public to experience the recreational and social benefits of golf in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
The day will also serve as an 8th birthday celebration for Lou’s Bar & Grill; the popular neighborhood restaurant located in the shadows of the Papago Buttes.
The event aims to make golf accessible and enjoyable for all community members. Attendees can participate in a variety of activities, including range sessions, a putting course, complimentary golf lessons, music, food and beverage specials celebrating Lou’s birthday, lawn games, and more. Team Troon member, four-time Long Drive World Champion and global golf ambassador Maurice Allen will also be on hand to provide swing tips, inspire young golfers, and put on a long drive demonstration. For football fans, the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks game will be broadcast on televisions.
The Papago Golf Club gathering is part of Troon’s nationwide Community Swing series, which transforms municipal golf courses into vibrant community hubs. The series includes 23 events across the United States, designed to introduce local communities to the Troon experience – where hospitality, recreation, and connection converge.
“The Community Swing is a fun way to introduce local communities to golf courses, where hospitality, recreation, and connection come together,” says Papago Golf Club General Manager Daryl Crawford. “By expanding the impact of golf courses beyond fairways and greens, we’re redefining what it means to be a welcoming and inclusive destination for all.”
