Rivers Edge Golf Club has announced plans for a major course revitalization project in 2027, highlighted by a complete greens renovation and the installation of new grass putting surfaces.
The project marks another major investment in the Arnold Palmer-designed course, building on years of improvements while preserving the character that has made Rivers Edge a favorite among golfers since 1999.
To accommodate the improvements, Rivers Edge Golf Club will temporarily close for play beginning May 17, 2027, with plans to reopen in early fall 2027, weather permitting. In addition to the new greens, the project will include irrigation system replacements and upgrades, and preliminary planning and discussions with contractors and local officials are underway regarding potential restroom improvements near Hole 13. Additional clubhouse and property enhancements are also planned to further elevate the overall guest experience.
The upcoming project builds on an extensive series of investments and improvements at Rivers Edge, from interior and exterior clubhouse renovations, enhancements to the Double Eagle Grille, a new golf cart fleet, upgraded practice facilities, bunker and bridge renovations, extensive bulkhead restoration, and numerous on-course improvements. Since acquiring the club in September 2023, owner Sandesh Sharda has worked alongside East Coast Golf Management to build on that progress and invest in the club’s future.
Beyond the physical enhancements, the club has placed a strong emphasis on customer service, introducing complimentary valet service, an enhanced arrival experience, and a more relaxed and personalized round of golf. These continued investments have helped position Rivers Edge among the area’s premier golf facilities, earning recognition from some of the industry’s most respected organizations and publications.
“When we began this journey, our vision was to restore Rivers Edge to its full potential while building an exceptional golf experience,” says Chris Hendrick, Vice President of Operations for East Coast Golf Management. “We’re incredibly proud of how far the club has come and the recognition it has received, but we’re not finished. This next investment represents another major step forward, and we’re excited about the future of Rivers Edge.”
Throughout the renovation, Rivers Edge Golf Club plans to share regular project updates, behind-the-scenes photos, and video content through its website and social media channels, giving golfers an opportunity to follow the transformation as it unfolds.
