Cornerstone Club Announces Expansion and Golf Course Renovations

The plans include golf course renovations, expanded amenities, new overnight accommodations, enhanced wellness offerings, and exclusive ski access in Telluride.

By Editorial Staff | August 18, 2026

Cornerstone Club (Montrose, Colo.), a 4,800-acre, four-season private club community, announced a major expansion designed to elevate the resident and member experience. The plans include golf course renovations, expanded amenities, new overnight accommodations, enhanced wellness offerings, and exclusive ski access in Telluride.

At the heart of the expansion is the renovation of the club’s golf course, scheduled to be completed in summer 2027. Members will enjoy upgraded turfgrass, refined fairways, revitalized bunkers and improved cart paths throughout the course, along with the transformations of two signature holes. Hole 12 will become a dramatic short par-4 that rewards strategic play, while Hole 18 will be reimagined as a memorable par-5 finishing hole.

Adjacent to the 18th green, Cornerstone will unveil a new bar and grill overlooking an expansive putting course, creating a gathering place where members can connect, relax, and celebrate the golf experience after the round. Complementing Cornerstone’s culinary offerings, this new venue will join the Cap Rock restaurant in the clubhouse and the Elk Shack on the golf course. The clubhouse campus will also grow to include a resort-style pool and hot tub, an event lawn for family gatherings and club events, and new locker rooms serving golf and pool guests.

Nearby, Cornerstone is also upgrading its training facilities into a state-of-the-art performance center featuring indoor activities like racquetball and a fitness center outfitted with elite training equipment. Wellness offerings will expand as well, with a new spa and thermal village featuring indoor and outdoor thermal pools, private treatment cabins, relaxation cabanas, couples’ experiences, and a coffee and juice bar.

In addition to golf and poolside recreation, programming will also broaden, and members can enjoy hiking, horseback riding, pickleball, and tennis during the warmer months, along with indoor golf simulators, wellness experiences, and seasonal events throughout fall and winter. Beginning in Winter 2026, Cornerstone Club real estate members will also gain exclusive access to Crest Club Telluride, a private alpine retreat located within the Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection. The partnership allows members to seamlessly transition from summer mountain living to winter skiing in Telluride.

To accommodate increased member use, Cornerstone Club will add eight new overnight cabins, giving members and guests convenient accommodations options for weekend golf getaways and extended mountain retreats.

“Cornerstone has always been more than a golf course, it’s a retreat, legacy, and a way of life. We are excited to build on that foundation, enriching the experience while preserving the qualities that make this place truly exceptional,” says Andy Deiro, General Manager of Cornerstone Club.

Cornerstone memberships are now available, offering a limited opportunity to join the club ahead of its next phase of growth. The community’s public real estate release is anticipated in 2027.
