The Haven Country Club (Boylston, Mass.) announced a major capital investment that brings new cool-season perennial grass green, enhances subsurface drainage and adds six new pickleball courts to the club.
The projects are the latest milestone in an ongoing reinvestment effort focused on creating an inviting environment that best serves today’s members.
The Haven’s green complexes will be converted to the new grass and be paired with the installation of a new subsurface drainage system. The improvements are designed to lower subsurface water, increase oxygen levels in the rootzone and promote healthier turf. These changes will result in firmer and more consistent playing surfaces and stronger conditions for years to come.
The practice and chipping green, as well as the course greens, are closed in September. The club is targeting a reopening around Memorial Day 2027, with the final timeline dependent on weather conditions and the successful establishment of the new turf.
To keep members playing during the renovation, the club will keep the driving range open and create temporary greens on most holes where possible. Members of The Haven also have access to other properties in the area, including Ipswich Country Club and The Ridge Club based on tee-time availability.
Alongside the golf course work, The Haven will add six new pickleball courts, offering improved pace, precision and comfort. The new courts will support expanded programming and more social events for players of every skill level.
