Ponte Vedra Inn & Club announced the opening of its state-of-the-art Sports Club, launching a new era of wellness at the historic oceanfront resort and member club.
The new 84,000-square-foot facility brings innovative fitness, restorative recovery, recreation and fresh dining together in one distinct destination.
The opening marks the first major milestone in a broader transformation designed to deliver world-class facilities and experiences while preserving the resort’s distinctive character. Next is the anticipated Surf Club, scheduled to open in spring 2027 with two pools, reimagined dining venues and new oceanfront event spaces and more.
“As Ponte Vedra Inn & Club approaches its 100th anniversary, our continued stewardship means preserving what makes this place extraordinary while creating a one-of-a-kind experience for our members and guests,” says John Peyton, President of Gate Petroleum Company, Owner of Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. “The Sports Club is the first step in that vision, with the Surf Club to follow as we shape the next chapter of this enduring legacy.”
The Sports Club houses a broad collection of strength and cardio equipment. Designed to move with the body’s natural movements, this equipment helps reduce the risk of injury while making every workout more effective.
Personal training and group classes, including Pilates, barre, HIIT, and sports performance training, offer options for every fitness goal. A heated, six-lane rooftop lap pool overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, while a dedicated golf training area and indoor rock climbing expand the possibilities for active recreation.
The facility also includes a steam room, sauna, cold plunge, and dedicated recovery suites.
On the ground floor, Sandpiper Cafe offers sit-down dining and grab-and-go options. Chef Peter Nye’s family-friendly menu highlights fresh ingredients, from protein shakes, salads and rice bowls to whole-grain hearth-fired pizza, sandwiches and daily-baked desserts.
“Fitness today is about the whole experience: movement, nourishment and recovery,” says Michael Gordon, President of Gate Hospitality Group and General Manager of Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. “We want every member and guest to feel welcome and energized by the possibilities, whatever their fitness level or goals.”
