Troon has been selected to manage Thanksgiving Point Golf Club, which features a 7,714-yard golf course in Lehi, Utah, as well as Champion Hills Club, a private, member-owned facility in Hendersonville, N.C. Brown Golf recently added Green Mountain National Golf Club in Killington, Vt., to its portfolio.
Three properties are now under new management:
—Troon® has been selected to manage Thanksgiving Point Golf Club in Lehi, Utah. Troon Golf, the daily-fee and golf resort operating division of Troon, will lead all golf, club and food and beverage operations at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club.
Thanksgiving Point Golf Club opened for play in 1997. The 7,714-yard course was designed by Johnny Miller and is recognized as one of the longest courses in the state. Thanksgiving Point has hosted numerous high-profile golf events, including the Web.com Tour’s Utah Championship; The Champions Challenge, which featured the likes of Jack Nicklaus, John Daly, Laura Davies, Fuzzy Zoeller, Gary Player and more; and the Utah State Amateur Championship.
Thanksgiving Point Golf Club is located adjacent to the Thanksgiving Point Institute, approximately 25 miles south of Salt Lake City.
—Troon® has also been selected to manage the Champion Hills Club, a private golf club in Hendersonville, N.C. Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Champion Hills is a member-owned club and will be managed by Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon. Although the club and the community’s Property Owner’s Association are separate entities, the club’s General Manager will have oversight over both business operations.
The Champion Hills Club is the centerpiece of the 730-acre Champion Hills residential community and Dana Schultz, a 19-year veteran of Troon, has recently been named as the club’s new General Manager. The Tom Fazio-designed, 18-hole par-71 golf course opened for play in 1991 and is ranked by Golf Digest as one of the top private courses in North Carolina. The course is set an elevation of 2,500 to 3,000 feet, allowing for year-round play while providing four season beauty.
In addition to its golf course, Champion Hills also features a 25,000 sq. ft. clubhouse with multiple dining options; a new fitness center with classes and personal training; two lighted Har-Tru tennis courts; a heated pool, hydro spa and sun deck; Bocce ball courts; and 18 miles of marked and well-maintained walking trails.
—Brown Golf, with its corporate office located in Camp Hill, Pa., continues to grow its portfolio of clubs with the addition of the 18-hole Green Mountain National Golf Club, located in Killington, Vt.
Green Mountain National Golf Club is owned by the Town of Killington. The golf course traverses through scenery and mountains, mixing a quality layout with the beauty of nature.
“Killington, Vermont is a beautiful place,” said Brown Golf CEO John Brown. “The type of place worth traveling to year-round. Green Mountain National absolutely provides a one of a kind golfing experience”.
