Jared Ellis and his parents test drive their customized golf car. |
Jared Ellis didn't want to meet a famous athlete or go on a vacation. He just wanted to get outside and play like most most six-year-olds. But, unlike other kids his age, cerebral palsy has kept him immobilized-until now.
With the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama and Yamaha Golf Car Company, Ellis received a customized Yamaha golf car, which was unveiled in his own front yard.
The golf car, complete with a rear-facing seat kit, is painted in Ellis' favorite color, black, and includes a personalized floormat that reads, "Custom-built for Jared Ellis," a CD player with speakers, and other custom accessories.
"We took this task to heart," says Will Scoggins, Yamaha Golf Car Company's Marketing and Product Planning Manager.
"We immediately involved our Custom Vehicle department, Parts and Accessories division, as well as multiple outside vendors and developed a plan to present Jared with more than just a regular golf car."
