Washington County Golf Course (WCGC) in West Bend, Wis., is set to undergo a significant clubhouse expansion following approval of the concept plan by the Washington County Board as part of the county’s Capital Improvement Planning.
The proposed project includes a remodel of the existing clubhouse along with a new addition that will feature indoor golf simulators. With the concept now approved, the plan moves into the final design phase. The specific details and full scope of the project are still being finalized.
To gather community input, WCGC will host a public engagement workshop June 10, inviting feedback from local golfers and residents.
The addition of indoor simulators is intended to enhance the overall golf experience at WCGC. The facility already features an impressive practice area and short course, and the new space is expected to support player development programs, allow for year-round simulator play, and improve custom club fitting services.
Financially, WCGC has a fully funded long-term maintenance plan. The proposed funding model includes borrowing as a strategic approach to maintain healthy cash flow while spreading project costs over time.
This expansion follows a period of growing recognition for WCGC. Last month, the course was once again named one of the Top 50 public golf courses in the United States. It also recently announced a partnership with Next 18, an organization focused on supporting Veterans and mental health through recreational programs.
