The project at the member-owned club in Naples, Fla. includes indoor/outdoor dining on the second floor, while the first floor will feature an indoor/outdoor casual restaurant and bar, with adjacent bocce ball courts. A wellness center and golf carts and bag storage are also planned.
Membership at Windstar on Naples Bay in Naples, Fla. has approved a $13 million renovation project to update and expand the Windstar clubhouse.
The renovation project includes expansive indoor/outdoor dining on the second floor overlooking the Naples Bay. The first floor will feature an indoor/outdoor casual restaurant and bar, with adjacent bocce ball courts.
A new two-story building will house a 9,000 sq. ft. wellness center upstairs, with golf carts and bag storage downstairs. The entire clubhouse will incorporate state-of-the-art technology and efficiencies while maintaining Windstar’s welcoming coastal vibe.
The construction is slated to begin in the Spring of 2022 with most of the construction taking place in the summer months. The project is targeted for completion by the end of 2022.
“The Board is grateful for the membership support of the enhancement project,” said Board President David Shunk. “Windstar has many unique assets, including our unparalleled location on the bay, proximity to downtown, and our top-rated Tom Fazio golf course. This capital investment will position our clubhouse amenities in the same exceptional tier. The results will maximize the enjoyment of our members, attract new members, and ensure our competitive status.”
Windstar on Naples Bay, Tom Fazio’s first golf course design in Southwest Florida, was established in 1983. Windstar’s history includes their former golf pros—Greg Norman and Nancy Lopez—and previous residents and members Andy Bean and Larry Byrd, who was the Club Champion in 1996.
Members of this member-owned club have access to a bayside practice facility, 18 hole golf course, six clay tennis courts, dining, a marina and a shuttle to Windstar’s private beach on Keewaydin Island.
