Accessories are very important to tennis players and their games. Here is what I consider some must-haves when stocking your shop: Strings, grips, tennis balls, and recovery equipment.
String is one of the most important accessories to tennis players. String has a big effect on a player’s game. There is a wide variety of strings that enhance spin, control, power, and feel. It is important to offer a wide variety of strings to allow players to select what best fits their game.
Grips and over grips are essential needs to all tennis players. Most tennis players use over grips and switch them out often as they wear out quickly with use. There are several benefits from using an over grip such as tackiness for a better grip, moisture wicking, or an enhanced feel of the grip. For those that don’t like to use over grips, you should have replacement grips available to switch out their original grips once they are worn out.
Tennis balls are another must-have and offering a variety of brands is a wise choice as some tennis players are selective about the ball they use. There are also tennis balls for the different surfaces such as clay courts, hard courts, and grass courts.
Recovery equipment may range from elbow bands, ankle braces, knee braces, massagers, and KT Tape. It is important to offer this type of equipment as most avid tennis players will feel occasional aches and pains.
More recently there has been an increased popularity with massage guns that help the players warm up before a game or aid in the recovery after their match. This has been utilized as a prevention tool to keep them at the top of their game. Tennis is the sport of a lifetime
and offering the accessories to enhance a player’s game is key.
