Westhaven Golf Club in Franklin, Tenn. recently announced the opening of a premium teaching academy with nationally-known teaching pro, Virgil Herring. With practice greens, a short game area, fairway bunkers and driving range the school will operate year-round.
“Data shows that golfers who take lessons and receive proper technical analysis enjoy the game more and thus play more,” said Matt Magallanes, Vice President of the Westhaven Golf Club. “The primary purpose of our club is for members to enjoy themselves. Our training programs will inspire their love of the game through improved play, faster play, and more family golf participation.”
Herring, formerly of Gaylord Springs in Nashville, Tenn., is leading the teaching program as the senior instructor. Working with Head Golf Professional, Chris Cauthen and assistant PGA Pros Lance Vinson and Errol Helling they offer a program for golfers of all levels.
The Academy will also provide club fitting, sales and repair services under the direction of Master Club Fitter, Tim Sygerych.
Club members have priority access, but non-members will be able to attend the Academy.
