Kipp Schulties Golf Design will oversee renovations of the two 18-hole golf courses at the Naples, Fla. club. The South Course will be first to undergo renovations in 2023, followed by the North Course in 2024. “Our goal is to enhance course aesthetics, function and player enjoyment on both the South and North courses within the next few years,” says co-owner Michael Procacci Jr.
Vineyards Country Club in Naples, Fla. named Kipp Schulties Golf Design to oversee renovations of its two 18-hole golf courses, Business Observer reported. This will mark the first major upgrade since the courses debuted more than 30 years ago.
“Our goal is to enhance course aesthetics, function and player enjoyment on both the South and North courses within the next few years,” Vineyards Country Club co-owner Michael Procacci Jr. said in a statement. “Kipp Schulties brings a wealth of experience and talent, in keeping with our tradition of member satisfaction, to amplify the broad appeal and recreational playability of our two golf courses while making the adjustments that players want.”
The South Course, designed by Bill Amick, will be first to undergo renovations, in 2023, Business Observer reported. The traditional-style course served as a Champions Tour stop for five years, hosting The Aetna Challenge, Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Challenge and The IntelliNet Challenge.
The Mark McCumber-designed North Course, characterized by ample landing areas, rolling greens and a winding pedestrian path, is scheduled to undergo renovations in 2024, Business Observer reported. The course opened in 1989.
The yardage of both courses will be expanded from the professional tees to enhance the layout to a championship level, Business Observer reported. The greens will be rebuilt and enlarged to help accommodate a range of pin locations. And fairways will also be recontoured to enhance playability, pace of play and challenging yet enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.
“We are creating something very special at Vineyards Country Club,” Kipp Schulties said. “Many clubs don’t have the ability to do what we plan at Vineyards due to space limitations. The finished courses will have plenty of modern touches adding character, contour and elevation and giving members a truly unique golfing experience in Southwest Florida.”
Procacci estimates the South Course renovations will take around nine months to complete, starting in approximately April 2023 with work likely to be completed by the end of November 2023, Business Observer reported. Officials intend to begin renovations on the North course in spring 2024.
Vineyards Country Club is a Blue Zones-certified, 1,400-acre private, nonequity master-planned golf and country club community open to both residents and nonresidents for more than 30 years, Business Observer reported. The family-owned community, founded in 1988, includes 2,719 homes in 38 individual gated neighborhoods, a 70,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse and 450,000 sq. ft. of commercial space.
