Damage and theft is expected to be between $1,000 and $1,500.
According to Huron County (Mich.) Sheriff Kelly J. Hanson, the latest incident of vandalism at Verona Hills Golf Club was reported at 6 a.m. Sunday when an employee of the golf course reported a breaking and entering to the office and destruction of property there, reports WNEM TV 5.
Sgt. James Hunt of the Huron County Sheriff Office was dispatched to the golf course in Verona Township Sunday morning to investigate the incident.
“Apparently, the suspect or suspects forced their way in through an office window and stole a HP Pavilion black laptop computer,” said Hanson. “The suspect or suspects also took a golf cart on a joy ride and ended up driving over and destroying at least seven greens’ flags. Damage and theft is expected to be between $1,000 and $1,500.”
The damage is believed to have occurred between sunset Saturday night and when course employees arrived just before 6 a.m. Sunday.
“Two course members have pledged a total of $500 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for this incident,” said Hanson.
