For golfers who prefer a ride along the course, Vail (Colo.) Golf Club is test-driving something other than traditional golf carts beginning this summer—Colorado’s first Golf Bike, the Denver-based 9News reported.
The golf course will offer the two-wheeled transport to customers at a rental cost of $15 per 18 holes, 9News reported.
The Golf Bike’ was unveiled at the PGA merchandise show in Florida in January. The bikes are specially designed to carry clubs and have six gears, hand brakes, and smaller diameter wheels which require less pedaling, according to Higher Ground Bicycling Company, which designed the bicycle.
Vail Golf Club said the bikes are designed to have minimal impact on the course itself, 9News reported.
Pace of play for Golf Bike users will not change and will remain at 4:07 for an 18-hole round. Season pass sales for Vail Golf Club begin April 16, 9News reported.
