Golfers now have the option of renting bikes rather than golf carts, which are equipped with saddle bags for clubs and special tires that protect the course.
At the Vail (Colo.) Golf Club, Director of Golf Alice Plain is helping to start a golfing revolution by mixing the sport of golf with biking, Denver-based 9 News reported.
“We thought, ‘wow, that would be perfect for our golf course,'” Plain said.
Now among the golf carts and push carts golfers have a new choice to rent: a golf bike that’s loaded for the links with saddle bags for your clubs, a low bar to help you get on and off without hitting your clubs, and special tires that won’t hurt the course, 9 News reported.
The hope is that the bikes get more people into the swing of golf by putting a new spin on the sport, 9 News reported.
They rent for $10.00 for 9 holes and $15.00 for 18 holes, 9 News reported.
