The ClubCorp facility, located on The University of Texas campus in Austin, will begin a reinvention project that is scheduled to be complete in late spring. Project highlights include the redesigned Longhorn Bar with casual dining; new Texas Star banquette seating; a media area with a 103-inch big-screen TV; and the Darrell K. Royal Power Boardroom, with HD videoconferencing.
The University of Texas Club is kicking off 2014 with a multimillion-dollar reinvention project that will bring stylish new décor to the club as well as expanded dining, social and business features.
The ClubCorp property, located on the sixth and seventh floors of the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on the University of Texas campus, recently renewed its lease through end of year 2023.
The renovation project, now underway and scheduled to be complete in late spring, includes:
- Redesigned Longhorn Bar with casual dining
- New Texas Star banquette seating and community joiners tables
- New media area with 103-inch big-screen TV
- New Darrell K. Royal Power Boardroom with HD videoconferencing
“With these renovations, we are beginning a new era for the club,” said General Manager Joe Connell. “We will preserve the traditions and spirit of the university in a stylish new setting that provides more opportunities throughout the year—not just on game days—for members to connect, host, work, play, and celebrate.”
“The members are very excited about the upcoming improvements, which will provide even more reasons for them to showcase the club to family and friends and no doubt elevate the club’s status as ‘the’ spot for the University of Texas community to come together,” said club Board of Governors member Martha Hilley, a professor at the Butler School of Music.
Additional clubs in the ClubCorp family in Austin include The Hills of Lakeway, which underwent a multimillion-dollar reinvention in 2013, and Lost Creek Country Club.
