The combined clubs have adopted the University Club of Milwaukee name and designed a new logo. “We are ahead of pace on our integration efforts, and are very pleased with how our members are enjoying the wider array of services and amenities now available as a combined club,” said Board of Directors President Dan Aiello.
The University Club of Milwaukee (Wis.) and Tripoli Country Club have completed their planned merger and have adopted the University Club of Milwaukee name, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported.
C&RB reported on members’ approval of the merger last October.
The combined club also has a new logo and has named Greg Dick as General Manager overseeing and managing all activities at both clubs. Dick has more than 24 years of experience in resort and private club management, the Business Journal reported.
The merged club marks another city-country club combo following the Wisconsin Club’s takeover of the former Brynwood Country Club in 2009, the Business Journal reported.
The University Club of Milwaukee was established in 1898 and is now located in a landmark, historic building on Milwaukee’s lakefront that offers casual and fine dining, meeting and event facilities. The club also provides enrichment and educational programming and other city amenities such as a dedicated club car and behind-the-scenes access to major artistic productions, among other benefits, the Business Journal reported.
The Tripoli Country Club was established in 1921 and includes a highly rated course that through its history has hosted several PGA tournaments and state professional and amateur championships. The club also offers swimming, tennis, paddle tennis and a multitude of winter activities including cross-country skiing, sledding and snowshoeing, the Business Journal reported.
“We are ahead of pace on our integration efforts, and are very pleased with how our members are enjoying the wider array of services and amenities now available as a combined club,” said Dan Aiello, president of the University Club of Milwaukee board of directors.
The club said the new logo design was created after in-depth analysis of member opinion and reflection on the former clubs’ histories. The iconic windmill highlights the Country Club’s premier golf experience and recreational activities, and the U-shaped crest references the U-Club moniker, the Business Journal reported.
