Wormburner Park Golf in Logan, Ohio features holes with lengths ranging between 150 to 250 feet. A cross between golf and croquet, this is only the second “park golf” course in the United States.
An extremely unique golf course has opened in Logan, Ohio, WKYC reported. Just like a standard course, Wormburner Park Golf has 18 holes, but lengths range between 150 to 250 feet.
The only equipment that is needed is one specialized club that is flat like a putter and built like a driver, WKYC reported. The ball is slightly smaller than a softball.
The only other course like it is a few states away, WKYC reported.
“We drove up to the other course in the U.S. It’s in New York,” said the manager of the course, Hobie Shaw. “We drove there, played one round and said ‘We gotta build a course like this’ and that’s what we did.”
Club + Resort Business first reported on “park golf” when Destroyer Park Golf opened in Akron, N.Y. C+RB reported again in 2020 that the sport—a hybrid between golf and croquet—was gaining in popularity.
The course is built on a former hayfield, WKYC reported, and a foursome can take about an hour and a half to play all 18 holes.
