Troon has been selected to manage Steelwood Country Club located in Loxley, Ala.

Steelwood Country Club is set on a 1,500-acre, secluded and gated community just north of Alabama’s Gulf Coast, and features an 18-hole golf course designed by former U.S. Open Champion Jerry Pate. Stretching more than 7,100 yards, the championship golf course meanders through rolling hills, dense hardwood forests and natural wetlands. The golf facility also has an expansive driving range and state-of-the-art teaching facility.

In addition to golf, Steelwood offers an array of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. The on-site fishing camp provides members with electric powered boats and fishing equipment to utilize on Steelwood Lake, a 200-acre freshwater lake stocked with bass and bream. Steelwood members also have access to daily quail and pheasant hunting excursions during season, along with Hydro-clay tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness room and scenic hiking trails.

The clubhouse’s main dining room provides an upscale dining experience with Southern cuisine and an extensive selection of fine wines. The clubhouse lounge offers a more relaxed dining experience with lighter fare, casual seating and large screen TVs. The veranda, which is a popular venue for weddings and events, offers ample open-air dining, outdoor fireplaces and breathtaking lake views. The clubhouse also includes several smaller banquet and meeting rooms which can be reserved for business meetings and private events.
