Troon to Manage The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge

By Joe Barks | January 29, 2015

The Monroe, N.Y. property features a Jack Nicklaus Signature course and sits on 220 acres with landmarks and historic structures that predate the American Revolution. Significant capital improvements are planned for both the golf course and clubhouse.

Troon has been selected to manage The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge in Monroe, N.Y., through an arrangement that will have Troon oversee all aspects of the club, including golf operations, agronomy, revenue management, food and beverage, special events, sales and retail.

Located at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in the highlands of Hudson Valley, The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge features an 18-hole, par-72 Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. The course sits on a historic 220-acre site with landmarks that predate the American Revolution and boasts many historic structures, adding to the charm and character of the property.

“We selected Troon to help us open this new chapter of our club and bring their proven track record of success to The Club at Mansion Ridge,” stated Jason Giordano of Great Expectations, LLC, the ownership entity for Mansion Ridge. “Without a doubt, Troon is the perfect organization to lead our efforts with enhancing the experiences at our club and we are excited to bring the ‘Troon Golf Experience’ to The Club at Mansion Ridge.”

Troon will work with the ownership of Mansion Ridge to direct a significant capital investment designed to enhance and reinvigorate both the golf course and the clubhouse. Enhancements will include an expansive interior renovation of the clubhouse including updated flooring, furnishings, fixtures, new menu concepts, along with the renovation of the patio and outdoor dining areas to create new/additional dining experiences.

Course enhancements will include the implementation of Troon’s proprietary agronomic programs, to improve playing conditions from tee to green. Additionally, capital will be infused to improve the cart paths, replace bridges throughout the course and bring a new fleet of well-appointed golf carts to Mansion Ridge.

“We are extremely excited to be selected to manage The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge and direct efforts to elevate the golf, dining and special-event experience at this popular New York golf venue,” stated John Easterbrook, Troon’s Executive Vice President, Operations, Troon. “We are happy to expand Troon’s presence in the region and to immediately make a positive impact on the operations at the club.”

The layout at Mansion Ridge is highlighted by stunning rock formations, extreme elevation changes and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Breathtaking 50-mile views abound with graceful ridges and rolling foothills as part of the scenery from every hole. The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge is a popular venue for weddings, receptions corporate events and other celebrations within the historic stone clubhouse and stunning outdoor ceremony site that boasts panoramic views of the golf course and surrounding countryside.
