Troon Golf has been selected to manage BallenIsles Country Club, a premier, private country club located in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. that features three golf courses, extensive tennis facilities, and a full breadth of amenities.
The championship courses at BallenIsles were originally commissioned by John D. MacArthur to serve as the home of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA). In addition to hosting the World Cup Championship, the PGA Championship and the PGA Seniors’ Championship in the 1970s, many golf legends originally qualified for the PGA Tour on BallenIsles’ famous courses.
At present, golf course architect Keith Foster is almost finished with his renovation of Dick Wilson’s championship East Course, scheduled to reopen in December 2008.
Construction of a new state-of-the-art sports complex, scheduled to open in fall 2009, is also well underway, and demonstrates the club’s commitment to a wellness-orientated member lifestyle. The $26 million project includes a spa, nail and hair salon, relaxation lounges, spacious fitness center, exercise suites, dedicated Pilates studio, and a Bistro Grill with indoor and outdoor dining. The spa will be adjacent to a 22-court tennis complex featuring an exhibition tennis court with stadium seating. Members may also relax by a tropical lagoon-style pool.
“Selecting Troon Golf to manage our club is consistent with our plan to provide our members with the facilities and services necessary for outstanding member satisfaction,” noted Fred Corrado, President of BallenIsles Country Club.
Headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., Troon Golf is the world’s largest golf management company, overseeing operations at more than 200 courses located in 31 states and 31 countries.
