A combination of a great design, coastal setting and Troon Golf’s management and marketing programs will ensure the facility gains a favorable reputation.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Troon Golf has been appointed to manage 99 East Golf Club on Malaysia’s archipelago of Langkawi, a resort destination featuring 99 islands.
The Ross Watson-designed course is currently under construction, and is located at Bukit Malut on oceanfront land between Pantai Cenang and Kuah town, just 10 minutes from the international airport.
The 18-hole, 7,500-yard championship layout will be a focal point for Malaysia’s tourist destination. The first nine holes are scheduled to open on June 15, 2011 followed by the opening of the full 18 holes and permanent clubhouse in early 2012.
