The Gaylord, Mich., resort focuses on local food and wine at its myriad fall food events.
According to Denise Pritchard of the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based WZZM13, Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Mich., is not only home to a collection of five premier golf courses, it also makes its’ mark in the culinary world by celebrating locally grown and produced recipe ingredients.
Back by popular demand is the Culinary Adventure Series which includes the popular Farm 2 Fork and Craft Brew Dinner Experience. There are more events to come including the Art D’Vine series on October 17th, where culinary beat meets the world of art. The event will feature a Michigan wine paired with an art experience but now the culinary beat meets the world of art with its new Art D’Vine series which will feature a Michigan wine paired with an art experience.
The resort culinary staff, led by Food and Beverage Director Gabe Bober, will continue its culinary fun-filled summer season by hosting its next Craft Brew Dinner Experience on Friday, August 21. The craft brew dinner event will have five beer and food pairings. Guests will enjoy Right Brain craft beers, brewed in Traverse City perfectly paired with Latin cuisine created by the culinary team at the resort. Flavor profiles of each craft beer and a tasting menu will be explained by resort chefs, WZZM13 reported.
As the late summer season takes form, the Treetops Resort culinary team continues to capture the essence of locally grown and produced ingredients. Guests will enjoy the resort’s second Farm2Fork Dinner on Sunday, August 16. The August event, aptly named “My Green Garden,” will celebrate a garden harvest dinner featuring produce grown in Otsego County and neighboring counties throughout northern Michigan, spotlighting culinary delights from starters to deserts and drinks. Each event is presented in the resort’s Wilderness Cabin and is served family style with guests seated, enjoying the culinary conversation around a handcrafted large farm-like dining table, filled with character; from vintage table and glass wear to fresh flowers just picked near the resort’s Wilderness Cabin, WZZM13 reported.
Other culinary events of the fall include: “Take Us Back to Our Roots,” with carefully prepared bone-in pork chops on September 13, and “Fresh Fall Harvest,” featuring grilled lamb on October 11.
The all new Art D’Vine series created in partnership with the Gaylord area Council for the Arts will explore a variety of art types with different Northern Michigan artists. The October 17 event will focus on photography. Guests will meet at Treetops Resort’s main property and then will be transported out to the majestic Project Nature property to enjoy an event coined Fall into Photography. Each guest will participate in a hands-on art workshop, activities will take place both outside and at the Wilderness Cabin. Following the artist workshop, a four-course culinary tasting paired with Leelanau Cellars wine will be served. Each guest should plan to bring a camera along with them, WZZM13 reported.
The Fall into Photography Art D’Vine event features artist, Jan Kellogg, who has been teaching photography to adults and young people for over 20 years, WZZM13 reported.
