Arcis Golf has acquired TPC Valencia, which opened in 2003 and was designed by PGA TOUR Design Services. Billy Casper Golf will manage Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs, Fla., under a 10-year agreement, and specific initial capital improvement plans have yet to be determined.
Arcis Golf has acquired TPC Valencia (Calif.) from FivePoint, a developer of mixed-use, master-planned communities.
TPC Valencia, which opened in 2003, was designed by PGA TOUR Design Services, in consultation with two-time major champion Mark O’Meara. The par 72 course stretches 7,218 yards at championship length with a routing that offers sweeping valley views, complemented by an adjacent majestic oak preserve, and large greens. The club’s stunning 32,400-sq. ft. “Old California” ranch-style clubhouse evokes casual elegance.
The company plans significant capital reinvestment in the club, as well as enhanced service levels, a robust travel reciprocity program, amenities, and programming to further broaden the appeal for members and guests. Upon completion, the club will be rebranded as part of a multi-club lifestyle amenity to the community.
“We are excited to add this facility to our growing collection of one-of-a-kind lifestyle properties,” said Blake Walker, Founder and CEO of Arcis Golf. “This club fits perfectly with our strategy of owning and operating exceptional golf clubs and enhances our ability to deliver differentiated experiences to our members and guests within the greater Los Angeles region.”
Billy Casper Golf (BCG) has been selected by the Spanish Wells Community Association (SWCA) to manage Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs, Fla.
The 1,353 residences voted 81% in favor of purchasing Spanish Wells G&CC as part of their endeavor to protect open space and increase home values. Following the club’s purchase, SWCA sought established golf management company support. Under the 10-year license agreement, BCG will oversee course and property maintenance, staffing and training, clubhouse activities, golf instruction, merchandising, marketing and public relations, and special events. BCG will also assume financial management with 75% of net revenues being reinvested back into Spanish Wells G&CC.
“The acquisition of Spanish Wells Golf by SWCA created the ultimate synergy between a golf course community and its club facilities, aligning community goals to increase both the experience and value for residents and guests,” said Joe Goodrich, BCG Executive Vice President. “We are excited about this opportunity as it represents a replicable model for how residents of golf course communities can assume control over the golf course in their backyard, and ultimately protect open space, community lifestyle and property values.”
Spanish Wells Golf operations will be locally managed by a professional golf and agronomic team, and supported by a regional and national BCG team that provides expert guidance and direction in all facets of the business. Specific initial capital improvement plans have yet to be determined. BCG will work with SWCA to develop a long-range capital plan based on market opportunities and feedback from residents. Together, the BCG/SWCA partnership will plan and implement the best practices in golf course management, agronomic care and marketing.
In addition to 27 holes, Spanish Wells Golf offers a practice facility featuring an aqua driving range, pitching and chipping area, separate practice area for sand play, and a large putting green. Its 32,000-sq. ft. clubhouse overlooks the golf facilities.
