The management firm’s five-year contract from Webb County will begin January 1 for the operation of the Laredo, Texas property.
Within a week of being awarded a five-year contract by Webb County (Texas), Touchstone Golf, the new management company for Casa Blanca Golf Course in Laredo, Texas, held a meeting at the property to hear input from the community it will soon serve, station KGNS of Laredo reported.
Doug Harker, an Executive Vice President with Touchstone Golf, told KGNS that the meetings are something the managing company likes to do, so it can hear out community members who use the facilities often as it formulates plans to not only improve the golf course, but also to enhance customer service, increase marketing efforts, and focus on hosting more events.
Austin, Texas-based Touchstone is the 10th largest golf course management company in the nation, overseeing 37 properties in 10 states. It will start management of Casa Blanca on January 1, KGNS reported, and through its contract with the county, will earn $4,250 a month. (No details were provided on revenue expectations or incentives tied to the contract.)
The 18-hole Casa Blanca course was designed by Leon Howard and opened in 1967.
C&RB reported in 2016 (https://clubandresortbusiness.com/golfs-new-public-face/) on how the Max A. Mandel Municipal Course in Laredo was created in 2012 with a Robert Trent Jones II design, and how the city originally contracted for its management with Foresight Golf, before then switching to Landscapes Unlimited.
