Renovations to the Topeka CC include updated grill, golf shop, fitness center and lounge.
The Topeka (Kan.) Country Club is making some big changes to their facility with hopes of attracting additional people. As part of the $7.5 million renovation, the club recently completed a makeover of their grill room – changing the ceiling and bar – to go from a dark room to a lighter, fresh and modern look, KSNT News reported.
“We knew we had a diamond in the rough here,” Topeka Country Club President Clay Meininger said. “I mean, the golf course is our number one asset. And what we needed to do is build on that asset. We needed to offer things for families.”
Members are enjoying the changes to the dining area as it brings a new feeling, KSNT reported.
“I think the whole atmosphere,” said Amanda Poole, an 11-year member of the club. “It’s more open and just really modern.”
But the country club didn’t stop at renovating the grill room. It is adding new spaces to better serve its members, KSNT reported.
The additions will include the club’s golf shop, a fitness center and lounge. They are all part of the multi-million-dollar renovation project, a gift from members, KSNT reported.
“It’s good to see the members here would contribute,” Poole said. “You know to make it another place to just make Topeka have more options, places to go and get together. Just growing Topeka. It’s a win for everybody.”
Members can enjoy the new addition starting in January.
