The rankings reflect the judges’ scoring of data provided on clubhouse square footage; locker room(s) data; event space and seating capacity; bar area(s) square footage; dining area(s) square footage; availability of outdoor dining; wine room/cellar; total dining and bar areas seating capacity; kitchen(s) square footage; pro shop square footage; fitness and wellness square footage; and whether a dedicated youth space is offered.
Entries also included descriptions submitted by the club and resort properties on why their clubhouses should be top ranked, and a full complement of supporting photos. The judges weighted the data and material provided to score all entries.

11. Cattail Creek Country Club, Glenwood, Md.
Cattail Creek Country Club is known in the community as an environment where family values are fostered and business needs are entertained, all in one place. Between the renowned Golf Course, Pool, Tennis program, Fitness Center and newly renovated state of the art Clubhouse, there is truly something for everyone. The careful balance of a family-centered atmosphere and a consistent high-caliber setting for professional needs, makes Cattail Creek a truly unique and desirable club.
The original clubhouse at Cattail creek was built in 1995 featuring a 130-seat restaurant and bar along with formal dining and outdoor dining on the veranda or lower-level patio.
in 2005, The club added a second clubhouse to act as the hub for tennis, fitness and the pool.
October 2021 marked the completion of our new $6 million dollar clubhouse renovation. Designed by the Chambers group, the renovation is a modernization and expansion of the existing Clubhouse featuring fine dining and family casual dining options on the upper level. New locker rooms and a youth activity center highlight the lower-level Clubhouse along with a brand-new Members’ Bar and Grille, boasting a 75-seat bar, a golf simulator room, and 80 seats of outdoor patio dining overlooking our spectacular 18th green.
12. The Bridgewater Club, Carmel, Ind.
Founded in April 2005, The Bridgewater Club has been a hub for socialization, golf, youth activities, fitness, events and much more. At the club, member experience is top priority; our goal is to foster a sense of community.
Leading up to this summer, the clubhouse underwent a high style and dramatic transformation that encompassed nearly every aspect of the Club. This included the Zinc Bar, boardroom, ballroom, golf shop, fitness center, resurfacing and expanded pickleball courts, newly painted exterior, locker rooms, outdoor gathering spaces, rooftops and beyond.
Because the renovation was inclusive of so many spaces, it has had a positive impact on all members ranging from avid golfers to young families. Club ownership sought to design spaces that encouraged usage by members beyond formal dining and golf because young families and members (under age 40) desire greater variety in club experiences. Since the remodel, the club has seen a 40% increase in this demographic joining.
The Bridgewater Club is the largest private club in Indiana supporting both residents, non-resident members, as well as outside community social events. While the clubhouse renovations was extensive in 2021, club ownership continues to be committed to reinvesting annually.
13. The Club at Chatham Hills, Westfield, Ind.
The clubhouse at Chatham Hills sits on top of hill and has regal views. The exterior design was inspired by New England architecture. The inside of the clubhouse features modern amenities and innovative programming & activities.
The Chatham Hills Clubhouse features a 7,000 sq. ft. outdoor pool space with a swim-up bar, an indoor swimming pool and spa, a two-story fitness & recreation center, a private basketball & volleyball gymnasium, a four-lane private bowling alley, two indoor golf simulators, two incredible dining options year round and third dining option in the summer months, Child care & Kid Zone space, luxurious golf locker rooms and pristine fitness locker rooms, a fully stocked pro shop with fitting room, private event spaces, lounge areas and more!
From the sledding hill and cooking classes in the winter to elaborate golf events and evening concerts in the summer, the Club at Chatham Hills is a premier club and private community in the state of Indiana.
14. Woodfield Country Club, Boca Raton, Fla.
With an average age of 49, Woodfield Country Club is a haven for families and Baby Boomers who value living in a family friendly community. It is a diversified Club that embraces families and offers a contemporary social scene. More than 500 children call Woodfield home, which makes this a very unique club in the Boca Raton area. Members’ children are provided with a full schedule of onsite activities, entertainment, and sports programming – all year long.
Kids Club
So many children call Woodfield home that Peacock + Lewis was asked to design their very own Children’s Clubhouse. This 3,000 sq. ft. clubhouse was completed in 2016 and continues to be the epicenter for activities for children of all ages. The facilities include a bright and airy Children’s Clubhouse with a Game Room for teens and Kids Korner playroom for little ones, as well as three playgrounds.
The tennis and golf departments offer clinics, camps, and lessons for Juniors as well as specialty Parent-Junior Tournaments. In addition, the tennis department offers a full schedule of after school Junior tennis programs and the golf course is outfitted with PGA Family Golf Course markers. This club wants their children to be part of the complete member experience with additional services as special menus, group fitness classes for Juniors and kid-friendly activities throughout the club.
Kids Korner offers a nurturing place for children to learn, grow and have fun. With dramatic play areas, an arts and crafts center, a reading space, media zone, and infant play area there is plenty for little ones to do. Onsite babysitting service is available for children from six months to seven years of age, and a constant calendar of engaging activities will enrich your little ones with every visit. Members also have the choice of sending their kids to winter, spring, and summer camps right on property.
Teens have their very own sanctuary to play and hang out safely without being overly supervised. They can hang out with their friends and neighbors, watch TV or play games. The area is filled with a full range of complimentary video and arcade games that are regularly changed out to provide variety – your teens will keep coming back for more.

A poolside fire pit lights up the evening as you linger listening to music and enjoying the gorgeously lit view.
Dining
The Grille is their casual dining restaurant offering lunch and dinner buffets filled with everything from decadent indulgences to light selections, including an expansive salad bar.
Bistro
Enjoy an adventurous dining experience in the beautifully appointed Bistro. The menu features imaginative global fare, including chilled seafood towers, charcuterie, and a blend of Mediterranean and French bistro classics.
O Bar has the casual, chic ambiance of the popular octagon shaped bar. The O Bar is the perfect place to meet up with fellow Members and friends for a unique craft cocktail experience, extensive wine list and generous selection of spirits from around the world. The O Bar menu features small plates, tapas selections, sushi, artisan pizza, burgers, pasta and more.
Waterside
With a modern design and captivating atmosphere Waterside is far beyond what one would expect poolside dining to be. Enjoy sweeping views of Woodfield’s beautiful pool area, 18th hole and lake while sipping sparkling passion fruit spritzers and savoring delicious food selections. The Waterside menu seamlessly integrates casual poolside fare with contemporary offerings, including a creative selection of salads, artisan pizza, bowls and more.
Sandwedges
Before, during or after a round of golf, dine at Sandwedges, our casual a la carte restaurant. Sandwedges is located on the golf course, overlooking the Driving Range and Clubhouse.
Blendz offers fresh fruit smoothies perfect for an after-workout recovery, a meal replacement or an after-school snack. Each morning at Blendz, Members can refresh themselves with complimentary coffee, fruit, oatmeal, and bagels.
15. Bay Harbor Yacht Club, Bay Harbor, Mich.
From its signature location, Bay Harbor Yacht Club is nestled on the shoreline of Bay Harbor Lake with spectacular views to Lake Michigan. Known as a summer paradise and recently named a Distinguished Emerald Award recipient as one of the finest clubs in the world, this club offers unparalleled amenities such as boating, family recreational activities, and year-round wellness programing for a membership of over 500.
In an effort to fulfill its mission to serve its members as the social center of the Bay Harbor Community with exceptional services, programs, and facilities, the leadership engaged Peacock + Lewis in master planning design which led to a multi-phased clubhouse renovations and amenities expansion program placing emphasis on ensuring that BHYC amenities, activities, and services continue to remain available to members during the entire construction period.
The stately clubhouse and adjacent Lange Event Center are the scene of all sorts of activities from wedding celebrations to holiday festivities. Members are also privy to dine in four outstanding restaurants offering choices of casual to gourmet in an indoor or outdoor setting.
Health and wellness are a predominant focus at Bay Harbor Yacht Club and the club’s new Wellness Center was designed to be on the forefront of cutting-edge fitness trends.
