Registered members of “Team Titleist” will be able to visit the company’s plant in New Bedford, Mass. to view the production and quality-control processes used in making the Pro V1 and Pro V1x.
Amid a growing debate over how golf-ball technology is affecting the game and the courses it’s played on, Titleist Golf Balls has announced that it will now open its Titleist Ball Plant 3 in New Bedford, Mass., to give golf professionals and players an opportunity to view firsthand how the Pro V1 and ProV1x balls are made.
Titleist will conduct tours of the plant four times per day on Mondays and Fridays, beginning November 20th. The tours are free of charge, but only to registered members of “Team Titleist,” which the company describes as its “community of brand loyalists and dedicated golfers.”
Golfers can register for Team Titleist at www.titleist.com/TeamTitleist and then register for the tours online at www.titleist.com/TourBP3.
For more than 80 years, Titleist golf balls have been designed and manufactured by Titleist associates in Titleist-owned and -operated facilities on the south coast of Massachusetts, dating back to when founder Phil Young introduced the first Titleist golf ball in 1935.
“The history of Titleist is one of hardworking, passionate people dedicated to making the best golf balls in the world and helping golfers play their best,” said Mary Lou Bohn, President, Titleist Golf Balls. “At Ball Plant 3 alone, we have more than 450 associates with an average tenure of over 20 years ensuring that our precision manufacturing process delivers unmatched consistency from ball to ball.
“We’re excited to take our most loyal brand fans behind the curtain and reinforce why they can trust their game to us on every shot,” Bohn added.
