The expansion at the Grand Rapids, Mich., property will be revealed in the spring, and will include a new restaurant, interior design, outdoor space, pro shop, locker rooms, and updates to the facility’s technology. The property will also change to a fully private golf club on January 1.
Thousand Oaks Golf Club in Grand Rapids, Mich., will begin a remodel and expansion project on January 1, the Grand Rapids Business Journal reported.
The expansion will be revealed in the spring and include a restaurant with a new name, interior design, outdoor space and food concept. The club’s restaurant, currently called the Acorn Grille, will be closed during the renovation. Following the renovation, which includes a larger bar area, the restaurant’s capacity will increase to 157 seats from 121, the Business Journal reported.
Also included in the renovation project will be a new pro shop, locker rooms and improvements to the facility’s technology. Thousand Oaks’ banquet facility will remain open during the remodel, as will the pro shop and golf academy, the Business Journal reported.
“These improvements will provide members with more opportunities to receive greater value from their membership,” said Craig Smith, COO of Watermark Properties, which operates the facility.
Thousand Oaks will also change to a fully private golf club on January 1, but the restaurant will remain public, as are the rest of the Watermark Properties restaurants, under the RedWater Restaurant Group family.
Watermark and Thousand Oaks announced the merger of the two companies in August and integrated operations in October.
