Golf carts are not usually thought of as the primary mode of transportation for a butler. But at the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, the only oceanfront resort in the San Francisco Bay area, a “Fire & Wine Butler” can now be seen roving the property in a specially provisioned cart, to provide on-the-spot service to guests, no matter where they might want to cozy up with a vintage bottle while enjoying the spectacular grounds and dramatic surrounding coastal scenery.
All guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay may now access the expert roving services of The Fire and Wine Butler on Thursday through Sunday evenings, wherever they may be on the property. On Thursday through Sunday evenings, the Fire & Wine Butler now offers to help any guests it finds at any of Half Moon Bay’s dozens of private fire-pit guest terraces, patios and cottage lanais, as well as at larger shared fire pits, along the strolling and hiking paths on the California Coastal Trail, and other outdoor recreation and viewing spots. The butler assists with fire lighting and provides outdoor wine service, after-dinner drinks, and dessert on the terrace, including hand-crafted s’mores for family groups.
“We have created this position to provide the ultimate Northern California resort experience,” said Bernd Kuhlen, General Manager. “Because our guests spend so much time relaxing outside and on their patios, The Fire & Wine Butler is a meaningful new way for us to truly anticipate their needs.”
