Acquisition of manufacturer of warewashing systems and plastic kitchen products will expand Vollrath’s product portfolio.
Paul Bartelt, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sheboygan, Wis.-based The Vollrath Company, LLC, has announced Vollrath’s acquisition of Traex Company from Libbey Glass®, Inc., a subsidiary of Libbey Inc., located in Toledo, Ohio.
By acquiring Traex, a market leader in the production of warewashing systems and plastic kitchen products, Vollrath will expand the depth and breadth of its foodservice supplies, the company says.
While Vollrath is known throughout the industry as a leader in metal stamping and fabrication, the acquisition of Traex adds plastic molding and manufacturing to Vollrath’s capabilities. Vollrath’s product offering will increase with additional warewashing systems, tabletop accessories, bar supplies, food preparation products, dispensers and trays. The addition of these new products will complement Vollrath’s extensive equipment and smallwares offering, while further enabling the company to serve as a one-source solution to help foodservice professionals run a more flexible, efficient and profitable business.

The Vollrath Company has manufactured equipment and smallwares for the foodservice industry for more than 136 years,
