The Naples, Fla. club’s clubhouse expansion will include an indoor/outdoor bar, casual dining, and card/activity room. In addition, four new bocce courts will be built adjacent to the clubhouse. Construction on the Talon Course is scheduled to be completed in January 2022. Work on the new clubhouse is slated to be finished by November 2022.
Members at The TwinEagles Club in Naples, Fla. approved Phase One of a Master Plan that calls for the renovation and modernization of the club’s Nicklaus-designed Talon Course, and an expansion and renovation of the clubhouse, to include an indoor/outdoor bar and casual dining, card/activity room, Midway Cafe, and an expanded dining/event room and balcony overlooking both the Talon and Eagle championship golf courses.
In addition, four new bocce courts will be built adjacent to the clubhouse.
The cost of Phase One is estimated at $22.5 million, with construction on the Talon Course scheduled to be completed in January 2022. Work on the new clubhouse is slated to be finished by November 2022.
“I am so pleased that our members recognized the critical importance of approving Phase One of the Master Plan, which will bring long-term benefits to current and future members for many years to come,” said Michael Levin, President of the TwinEagles’ Board of Directors. “We have talked at TwinEagles about the need to Elevate Your Lifestyle, a motto which means having greatly enhanced facilities and member experiences, which in turn can create even stronger home values for our members, living within the 717 homes at TwinEagles. It’s exciting to move forward with such strong member confidence and commitment.”
It has been a whirlwind and productive 18 months at TwinEagles, since ownership converted from a developer to the club members. Such control over policies and plans had not previously existed since the club was founded in 1999. So, starting with the conversion in December 2018, the Board, various committees and other club officials set out to learn what the members desired in a new-look TwinEagles. They prioritized those amenities while determining costs and building support for Phase One through a series of member focus group meetings and town halls.
There are other phases of the Master Plan that will be considered at a later date.
With considerable input from Nicklaus Design, which originally designed the Talon in 1999 and will oversee the renovation and modernization of the course, and Humphrey Rosal Architects, the Board and its management team, led by COO/GM Patrick Truchan, finalized a 45-page e-Booklet that was sent to members earlier in June. A broad range of questions were posed and answered in the booklet, allowing members to gain a firm grasp of the details of Phase One. The voting ended, with the official approval finalized. To help fund the amenities and improvements, members also approved initiation fees, another first for TwinEagles. The initiation fees do not go into effect until April 1, 2021.
“The success of this process speaks loudly to the passion of our membership and to the relentless efforts of our Board, committees and others who gave so much of their time and knowledge to the creation of the plan,” said Truchan. “The reality is that we are in a highly competitive market, and we need to create an enhanced casual outdoor bar and dining experience. We need to modernize and renovate the Talon to today’s standards. We need Bocce, which continues to increase in popularity. Now, we have the opportunity to fulfill all of those needs. What an exciting time at TwinEagles.”
Levin could not agree more.
“Our goal is to become one of the most desirable golf and country club communities in Southwest Florida,” he said. “This is a defining and exciting moment in the history of our club.”
The TwinEagles Club is a low-density community of just 307 golfing members for each of the club’s two championship golf courses.
