The family-owned public club in Cottage Grove, Wis., acquired Kestrel Ridge, in Columbus, Wis., because it’s “the perfect example of a destination course that can be a true community asset,” said Jessica Blaska-Grady, who will serve as General Manager of both properties.
The Oaks Golf Course, a family-owned public club in Cottage Grove, Wis., has added a second course, Kestrel Ridge GC in Columbus, Wis. to its lineup.
“Kestrel Ridge is the perfect example of a destination course that can be a true community asset,” said Jessica Blaska-Grady, General Manager of both The Oaks and Kestrel Ridge. “We want to grow our business but at the same time we don’t want to be ‘just another’ golf course.
“We bought Kestrel Ridge because it’s the right course that can continue to grow along with the entire Columbus community,” said Blaska-Grady.
“The Oaks and Kestrel Ridge are similar in that they are about the same age,” Blaska-Grady added. “We want to improve the course and the clubhouse at Kestrel as well, and we look forward to creating a second, true destination golf course for families from all over the Midwest.”
The Oaks has developed unique promotions targeting golfing families, such as “6-After-6,” which offers families a discount rate if they play together and start after 6 pm on summer evenings.
The Oaks also offers a “no rainouts” guarantee that is believed to be the only one of its kind in the state of Wisconsin. If a group gets rained out before it reaches the 18th tee, full-value rain checks are issued for another round.
“We think golf should be fun,” said Blaska-Grady, “and that’s a philosophy we’ll bring to Kestrel Ridge just like we did at The Oaks. At our courses, we want our players to enjoy first-class golf, first-class service, and have first-class fun.”
