The Statham, Ga. property has experienced a more than 700 percent growth in membership and has seen annual golf rounds more than double in the past eight years. The transition to private, which will take effect November 1 with special discounts offered until then, is designed to allow greater access and an elevated experience for members. Facilities will still be available to non-members for privately hosted special events.
The Georgia Club in Statham, Ga. has announced that it will achieve a long-time goal on November 1, 2019, when it will transitions from semi-private to private status. More than 2,000 members and guests gathered at the club on July 3rd to celebrate the milestone achievement that has been made possible by a membership growth of more than 700 percent under the management of Bobby Jones Links since 2011.
As a private club, The Georgia Club plans to offer its members more-accessible tee times, less- crowded greens and an overall elevated experience. Its facilities will continue to be available to non-members for privately hosted special events, including weddings, banquets, reunions and golf tournaments.
A special promotion that includes offering discounted initiation fees will be available for prospective members from July through October.
The Georgia Club, which was acquired by Pan-Pacific Fairway in December 2015, is a master-planned community that includes a 27-hole golf course, a 42,000-sq.-ft. Georgian Clubhouse and pro shop, a swim park and fitness center, and tennis and pickleball. With more than 1,300 acres in total, the community had 190 homes in 2011 and has now grown to 400 occupied homes, with a plan to continue the growth with an additional 450 homes to be built in upcoming years. Waiting lists have been created for future neighborhoods and the developer is on a schedule to complete 30 to 40 homes by 2020.
Bobby Jones Links, formerly known as Mosaic Clubs, LLC, was hired in July of 2011 to manage all club and grounds operations. The firm’s initial goals were to pull the club out of previously incurred $2 million debt, elevate and maintain its premier facilities, improve service, increase rounds and revenues, operate the facilities efficiently and professionally, and position The Georgia Club as a premier golf and club experience in Georgia, all while reducing the operating deficit.
Over the past eight years, Bobby Jones Links has made enhancements to the club’s facilities, re-trained the staff, and re-positioned the club to allow prospective members the privilege to enjoy the offerings through a semi-private club experience. In addition to the membership growth and an enhanced membership structure, annual rounds of golf have more than doubled, from 17,200 to 38,000.
The club has also secured accolades, including being named the number-nine course on Golfweek’s 2019 “Best Courses You Can Play” and being featured as Architectural Digest’s 2019 “Most Beautiful Clubhouse in Georgia.”
“This impactful level of growth in membership and home sales showcases the strong need in the Statham community for an exclusive golf and club membership experience,” said Kaitlin Looby, Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Bobby Jones Links. “Achieving this milestone of transitioning to a private club is a testament to The Georgia Club’s members and neighbors who make the club one of the premier communities in the Southeast.”
