The ribbon cutting on March 30 will be part of the Fort Myers, Fla. club’s 40th anniversary celebration. The expansion and remodel project upgraded a bar and grille, added a new kitchen, expanded indoor and outdoor dining areas, and added meeting rooms for community events.
The Forest Country Club in Fort Myers, Fla. will celebrate its 40th anniversary with the grand opening of its newly designed 40,000-sq. ft. clubhouse. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on the evening of March 30 in front of the club’s main entrance, marking the completion of a $10 million expansion and remodel project that began in May 2018 (https://clubandresortbusiness.com/forest-cc-kicks-off-7-9m-renovation/).
The new clubhouse, designed by Humphrey Rosal Architects and furnished by Club Design Group, features a transitional, contemporary design with $200,000 in new landscaping throughout the front and back of the clubhouse. The custom-built clubhouse also features an upgraded bar and grille, a new state-of-the-art kitchen, expanded indoor and outdoor dining areas, and additional meeting rooms for community events.
The new clubhouse’s design features a new cupola-style roof and views of the club’s golf course. The dining room will seat 208 for dinner with a 32-seat rectangular bar. Lunch and dinner service as well as large club events will be held in this room, with the adjacent Member Lounge being used as the dance floor for large parties and weddings.
A new open concept will allow conversation and company to flow freely between the dining room and the member’s lounge, located just past the lobby. Members and guests will also be able to dine and socialize on resort-style seating on new covered and sun terraces. Firepits add ambiance and a bit of warmth as members take in the beautiful Southwest Florida sunsets.
The renovation also modernized guest amenities including the hydro tennis courts and the Fitness Center and Wellness Studio, which featured advanced workout equipment, dynamic group fitness classes and OnDemand Fitness.
“This has been an incredibly transformative remodel project for our club,” said Matt Gaudet, The Forest CC’s General Manager. “We have completely stripped everything down to the studs and started from scratch, so every part of this building will be an entirely new experience for our members and their guests.”
The Forest CC features two 18-hole golf courses, the Bear and Bobcat, and hosts a U.S. Open Qualifier competition. Other amenities at the club include the Gumbo Limbo Bar and Grille.
