The club has gained 100 new members to the golf category alone this winter.
The Country Club of the South, Johns Creek, Ga., a member of the ClubCorp family of clubs, celebrated the grand re-opening of its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, which has undergone extensive renovations that included new greens and improvements to the tee boxes, bridges, and cart paths. The club also is celebrating a dramatic upswing in membership since being purchased by a ClubCorp subsidiary less than a year ago with the club gaining 100 new members to the golf category alone this winter.
“This is an exciting time to be a part of The Country Club of the South,” said Jay Biggs, General Manager. “There has been a rejuvenation in member interest that – partnered with the dramatic growth of new membership – has exceeded our expectations during the first year at the club, especially in such a tough economy.”
During the club’s March 4 ribbon-cutting ceremony, members enjoyed an afternoon on the course that included a Champagne toast, a shotgun round of golf with food stations throughout the course, a tee gift, and an exhibition by trick-shot expert Dan Boever. Afterwards, members celebrated an evening of cocktails, amazing food, live entertainment, guest speakers, prizes and more.
