The Club Foundation congratulates the following students on their remarkable academic achievements and selection as recipients of the Joe Perdue Scholarship:
- Gabrielle Forte – University of Delaware
- Mark Krebs – University of Wisconsin – Stout
- Shawn Quella – University of Wisconsin – Stout
Since its inception in 1988, The Club Foundation, the 501(c)(3) organization of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) dedicated to funding educational initiatives to the club industry, has awarded more than 150 Joe Perdue scholarships totaling more than $260,000. Each of the 2010 recipients receives a $2,500 scholarship from The Foundation.
Any individual who is seeking a managerial career in the private club industry and is currently attending an accredited, four-year college or university undergraduate program may apply for this scholarship. Candidates must provide strong evidence that they are pursuing managerial careers in the club industry. A candidate must have completed his or her freshman year of college and be enrolled for the next, full academic year. In addition, the candidate must have achieved and continue to maintain a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, or 4.5 on a 6.0 scale. Funds may be used for any expense directly related to the students’ education.
Scholarship recipients will be honored at the annual Student Awards Breakfast and Orientation during the CMAA World Conference and Club Business Expo in Orlando, FL, in February 2011.
