Andy Fisher, previously the head pro at Dayton (Ohio) Country Club, has resigned to accept a position on the golf staff at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. Before working at Dayton CC, Fisher was employed at three Columbus-area clubs—The Medallion, Tartan Fields and Scioto Reserve.
The Country Club at Brookline, which has 1,200 members, is the oldest country club in the United States and has hosted many United States Golf Association (USGA) tournaments. In 1894, it was one of five clubs that founded the USGA.
“Opportunities like this one I have in front of me don’t come along very often,” Fisher told the Dayton Daily News. “I’m going to be the first assistant (under head pro Brendan Walsh). I will be in charge of day-to-day operations and will be supervising six other pros. I’m really excited about it.”
