The improvements at the Lehi, Utah property will continue through the summer, touching all aspects of the clubhouse and golf course. Daily golf play and activities will be minimally impacted. The club is also planning to expand family and junior programming and to launch a new annual-pass program.
Thanksgiving Point Golf Club, located adjacent to the Thanksgiving Point Institute, approximately 25 miles south of Salt Lake City in Lehi, Utah, is in the midst of a multi-phase enhancement project. Enhancements began in May and will continue throughout the summer, with daily golf play minimally impacted. Improvements are touching every aspect of the Thanksgiving Point clubhouse and golf course.
The start of the improvements coincide with management of Thanksgiving Point GC by Troon. Projects that have already been completed include new paint, furniture and décor throughout the interior of the clubhouse; the debut of the Clubhouse Grill; enhanced landscaping at the front of the clubhouse; repaving of the club’s parking lot, and the addition of new meeting space and a bridal suite.
Additional projects that are being planned include a new roof on the clubhouse, expanded family and junior programming, and the launch of a new annual-pass program.
On the golf course, the club’s agronomy team will soon begin to upgrade the course’s irrigation system with newer, more-efficient sprinkler heads and valves. Plans are also being made for a bunker enhancement project and practice facility updates.
“It’s an exciting time at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club,” said Chris Thomas, the club’s General Manager. “We’ve made a number of improvements in and around the clubhouse and have other projects either planned or in the works. Guests and frequent golfers are definitely taking note of the changes and appreciate our attention to detail. The future is bright for Thanksgiving Point Golf Club.”
Thanksgiving Point GC opened for play in 1997. Its 7,714-yard golf course was designed by Johnny Miller and is recognized as one of the longest courses in the state. The club has hosted numerous high-profile golf events, including the Web.com Tour’s Utah Championship; The Champions Challenge and the Utah State Amateur Championship.
