The 14-year hospitality veteran will seek to “maximize the public profile” of the KemperSports-operated property on California’s Central Coast.
Terence Concannon has been named as the new Sales and Marketing Director of Monarch Dunes Golf Club in Nipomo, Calif, an award-winning premier public golf destination located in California’s Central Coast. In this role, Concannon will be responsible for managing sales and marketing initiatives and programs for the club.
Concannon joins Monarch Dunes after 14 years in hospitality and lodging with Hilton, Best Western and Ramada. He has also been a leader in the community, currently serving as the Board chairman for the Arroyo (Calif.) Grande Chamber of Commerce and the chair for that city’s tourism committee, as well as a member of the Recreation Advisory Committee at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, Calif.
“All of us at Monarch Dunes Golf Club are thrilled to have Terence on the team,” said Monarch Dunes General Manager, Jensen Lardizabal. “His proven experience in enhancing revenue along with the guest experience, and his leadership in the community will help maximize the public profile of the club, and will continue to separate Monarch Dunes from other competitors in the market,”
Monarch Dunes, part of the Trilogy development, offers an 18-hole “Old Course” and a 12-hole “Challenge Course.” It is owned by John Scardino and operated by KemperSports.
The par-71 Old Course, designed by Damian Pascuzzo and PGA Tour Professional Steve Pate, incorporates several water features, dramatic elevation changes, rolling hills, strategic bunkering and breathtaking vistas overlooking the Santa Maria Valley and the Oceano Dunes.
The newer, par-36 “Challenge Course” appeals to both veteran and novice golfers. Amenities include a grass-tee driving range and three practice putting greens.
Monarch Dunes’ clubhouse offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and banquet facilities for more than 100 guests at the Butterfly Grille restaurant. The adjacent Monarch Club offers additional banquet space for up to 250 people for business gatherings and parties. Other amenities of the property also includes the Sandalwood Spa and Adelina’s Bistro.
