The former Monadnock Country Club in Peterborough, N.H., will reopen with a new name and under new ownership. About 50 people volunteered to clean windows, wash cabinets, remove debris, rake leaves and make general repairs last weekend in preparation for the opening.

The Peterborough, N.H., property closed in October 2016 and a group of three locals plans to take over management and rename it Hilltop Golf Course. The group needs to confirm about 80 memberships to be able to reopen the nine-hole course, and estimates it will cost around $70,000 to run the course for the summer.
