A 114-foot Verizon Wireless cell tower could be built near the sixth hole tee boxes at the Medford, Ore., golf course, if the town’s planning commission approves a conditional use permit. The proposed tower will be planted next to a 91-foot evergreen near the maintenance area sand box, and a 15-foot-tall cedar hedge will conceal the base.

The 190-foot monopole cell tower would feature Verizon Wireless as a carrier, though it’s unclear how the plan will go over with neighbors in Plymouth, Mass. The club also plans to build 30 single-family homes in a project that could culminate in 113 homes on the site.

Verizon Wireless hopes to build a telecommunications facility next to the Fort Collins, Colo., property’s maintenance building, which would include a tower designed to resemble a tree. Many residents voiced their opposition to the plan at a neighborhood meeting.

Verizon Wireless plans to build a cell tower at the Simi Valley, Calif., golf course, which is estimated to bring in about $27,600 in annual revenue.
